Director of Marketing/Branding, South East Region

A major multinational conglomerate located in the south-east region is seeking a Director of Marketing and Branding. This is a newly created role established in response to an ongoing corporate marketing initiative and related re-branding. The Director will be joining at a crucial time for the company, as it transitions in organizational terms with this process being reflected in branding and marketing practices. The Director will report to and work closely with the Vice President, Marketing as a part of the team collaborating with external best-in-practice innovation and branding consultants charged with re-shaping the company’s brand promise. The Director will have a pivotal role in contributing to the initial strategy and in overseeing the consultants and team in the on-going process. The Director also will have primary responsibility for contributing to, communicating with and managing internal teams to implement the redefined brand strategy objectives. The Director will interface with seasoned and multi-faceted senior leadership, becoming the brand steward and the core-communicator of the brand promise, ensuring consistency in all phases of corporate marketing, communications, public relations, branded environments and visual identification. The Director must be able to interface with all levels of management and all departments of the corporation. The Director should have a strong appreciation of innovation and visual creativity in order to play a leadership role and grow with the company. The Director must be a thought leader, design thinker and be intellectually multi-lingual to effectively communicate to a cross-section of audiences. The ideal candidate will be a well-respected and innovative marketing and branding executive who presents a demonstrated record of business marketing experience. The Director will possess a minimum of ten years of experience, including branding, building marketing and branding strategies, environments or architectures, integrated solutions, communications and public relations. The creation of this role is an opportunity for the company to recruit an executive with broad business and operational experience to be a successor to the Vice President, Marketing, or an equivalent level position within an operating division.

Candidate should have proven success as an exceptional design thinker, a client whisperer and team leader. A strong understanding of market segmentation and complicated brand architecture in a retail environment is a must. He/She must be familiar with consumer focus approach and have shopper marketing experience. Candidates should be capable of delivering business results, be passionate about solving problems and setting business priorities.
